Day 01: Arrival Coimbatore – Ooty
Upon arrival at the Coimbatore Airport you will be cordially received by our representative and taken by road to Ooty; on arrival check-in into hotel. Day is at your disposal to spend at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 02: Ooty
After a refreshing breakfast proceed for a local sightseeing tour of Ooty. The beautiful hill station of Ooty is located on the Blue Mountains (Nilgiris) at an altitude of 2240 above MSL. Ooty, known as the ‘Queen of Hill Stations’, was once a favorite summer retreat of the Govt. of Madras. The landscape here is dotted with vast expanses of tea gardens, dense forests, sprawling grasslands and lofty mountains. Places of tourist interest here include the Botanical Gardens, Centenary Rose Park, Rose Garden, Lake, Government Museum, Deer Park and Doddabetta. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Ooty – Kodaikanal
After breakfast check-out from the hotel and drive to the scenic hill station of Kodaikanal; on arrival check-in into hotel. Day is at leisure. Overnight stay is at Kodaikanal.
Day 04: Kodaikanal
After breakfast, proceed for a local sightseeing tour of Kodaikanal. Kodaikanal, at a distance of 120 km from Madurai, lies on the southern crust of the Palani Hills. The town is centered-around the star shaped Kodai Lake covering an area of sixty acres. Kodaikanal has thickly wooded slopes, well laid out stroll paths through picturesque landscapes, gorgeous waterfalls and steep rocky drops. Places of tourist interest include the Lake, Solar Physical Observatory, Bryant Park, Coaker’s Walk, Kurunji Andavar Temple, Green Valley View, Pillar Rocks and Shembaganur Natural History Museum. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 05: Kodaikanal – Thekkady
After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Thekkady (04 Hrs Drive), on arrival check into the hotel. Proceed for the sightseeing tour of Thekkady – one of the world’s most fascinating wild life reserves. The Periyar wild life sanctuary in Thekkady is spread across 777 sq km of which 360 sq km is thick ever green forest. Noted for its geomorphology, diversity of wild life and scenic beauty, the sanctuary was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978. Optional activities like Boating at Periyar Lake, Spice Plantation visit and Elephant Ride can be done at an extra cost. Overnight stay is arranged in Thekkady.
Day 06: Thekkady – Gavi
After breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Gavi. Spread across the beauty of Periyar Tiger Reserve, Gavi is a quiet, beautiful and pristine forest haven. It is at 3400 ft above MSL. These evergreen forests are abundant with magnificent Wildlife including the tiger, elephants, leopards, bears, Indian gaur, sambar, barking & Mouse deers, lion tailed macaque, other varieties of monkeys, Nilgiri Marten and a lot more. Enjoy the trekking with experienced guides. Overnight stay is arranged at Gavi.
Day 07: Gavi – Munnar
Day 08: Munnar
After breakfast spend the day with local sightseeing. Situated at the confluence of three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundale, Munnar is 1600 Meter above sea level. This majestic hill station was once the summer resort of the British government in South India. Local sightseeing of Munnar includes visit to Mattupetty Dam, Kundale Lake and Echo point. Afternoon proceed to Rajamalai were the rarest species of mountain goat, “Nilgiri Thars”, can be spotted. Overnight stay is arranged at Munnar.
Day 09: Munnar – Alleppey
After breakfast checkout from the hotel and proceed to Alleppey, an important backwater destination attracting thousands of tourists every year, who come all the way to enjoy Alleppey for what it offers. Referred to as the “Venice of the East”, the place is home to diverse animal and bird life. Alleppey is also famous for its beaches, marine products, coir industry and boat races. A singularity of this land is the region called “KUTTANAD” – a land of lush paddy fields referred to as the rice bowl of Kerala and one of the few places in the world where farming is done below sea level. Overnight stay is at Alleppey.
Day 10: Alleppey – Mararikulam Beach – Alleppey
After breakfast proceed for local sightseeing in and around Mararikulam – Marari offers endless miles of superb sand beaches flanked with swaying palms, where you can experience the local charm and the traditional Kerala Hospitality at its best. Overnight stay is arranged in Alleppey.
Day 11: Kumarakom (Overnight House Boat)
After a refreshing breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Kumarakom. Set out on an enchanting overnight backwater cruise in traditionally decorated houseboats. Check in time is 01:00 PM and cruise starts with lunch. While cruising in these floating luxury-villas, let your eyes settle for the rare and the unusual – skim past Chinese fishing nets, bowed-down paddy fields, and local inhabitants engaged in making coir products, rustic homes, and ancient temples and swaying coconut groves. Food will be served onboard. Overnight stay in the houseboat
Day 12: Kumarakom – Cochin
After a refreshing breakfast served onboard, check out from the houseboat and drive to Cochin. Spend the afternoon with local sightseeing in and around Cochin – the “Queen of Arabian Sea”, this is one of the finest natural harbors in the World and was one of the major centers for commerce and trade with British, Chinese, Portugese, Dutch, etc. Sightseeing attractions in Cochin include Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Jewish Street, St. Francis Church and Chinese Fishing Nets. Overnight stay is arranged in Cochin.
Day 13: Cochin Departure Transfer
Morning, after breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Cochin airport for your flight back home, feeling contented about a wonderful holiday you spent in the “God’s Own Country”.
